Welcome Home Quilt Finish

Here are the promised photos of the Welcome Home quilt that finally got quilted and bound. This one doesn’t have a permanent home yet. I will keep it and enjoy it until I find someone that needs it.

This photo was taken with the help of my two companions. Ember was intent on watching another little dog walking on the other side of the street. But she was very good and held her “stay.”

The photo below shows how it started in May of last year. Can you see the date on the bottom of the magazine page? 2006. It was in this box for 14 years! I purchased the top banner fabric from a local quilt store that was going out of business, then collected fabrics for a year or so, and then it just sat, waiting for me to have time to do it. Well, last year, thanks to my online guild’s UFO challenge, in May I took it out and finished the top. I posted about it here. And now, again, thanks to that challenge, it finally got done! Yay! Happy Dance!

The quilting on the quilt in the magazine is beautiful. Mine is, of course, very minimal and utilitarian. But it is done!

The fanciest thing I did was this little star within the stars.

And for the back, I used a panel and some other Americana prints.

Please ignore Shadow me!
It was a very windy day!

And there you have it! What long term projects have you been able to finish in this Pandemic craziness?
